Admission Requirements
Admission Requirements
To enroll in the Medical Office Assistant with Health Unit Coordinator Diploma, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), Grade 12, or equivalent OR
- Be at least 18 years of age and successfully complete the Mature Student Admissions assessment
- Demonstrate English language proficiency (written and verbal)
- Be physically able to meet the requirements of the program and clinical placement
- Complete all required admission documentation
Clinical Placement Requirements
Before beginning the 160-hour Clinical Preceptorship, students must:
- Achieve the required minimum program grades (75% overall program average)
- Demonstrate a keyboarding speed of 40 words per minute
- Hold a valid Standard First Aid & CPR Level C certification
- Meet vaccination and medical requirements, if required by the placement site
- Submit a résumé and placement preference form before placement
- Complete a Criminal Record Check, if required
- Sign confidentiality agreements and complete a placement interview if requested by the host facility
